  •  Kentuckiana Surgeons - This is a website for Lucas, Parks, Rea and Van Daalen, PLC, a physician's practise in Louisville, KY. This site provides not only brochure information but informative links that patients can use to further explore their diseases on the web.
  •  Doug Lucas - This is a site for Doug Lucas, a professional dancer. The site included challenging gallery presentation and promotional imagery.
  •  Cafe Kilimanjaro - The site for Cafe Kilimanjaro was also a professional project which included photo shoots and maintainance contracts. I no longer maintain or host this site.
  •  www.mcass.co.uk- Business Website for an Urban Renewal Consultancy Firm. I was responsible for developing the architecture and functionality of the site while consulting on the graphic design with contracted graphic designers. The current site has been changed after my involvement with the project.
  •  www.littleteapot.org - My proper website, rants and all. This was my first attempt at interesting graphic design, also incorporating includes. Also included are older design ideas under 'web design', with such experiments as frames and table layouts.
  •  www.AfricaInSight.org - Africa in Sight.org - This site is my pet project in which I've not only experimented with php and databases, but is also my attempt to put my degree to some useful purpose. It was released on August 19, 2001.

I was employed as the Web Quality Assurance Associate for pcusa.org, the website for the Presbyterian Church, USA organization. This job entailed testing and scheduling uploads, as well as copyediting and bug-fixing on the site and its associated applications. I also performed usability testing and training of colleagues on HTML and content management software.

I taught World Civ 102, 1500 - Present as a part=time history instructor for the school year of 2001-2002. This was challenging both because I had never taught before and because it is so wide-ranging yet limited on time.

Specific challenges in this job included memorising enormous amounts of detail, exceptional service, and calm in moments of stress. I was working full-time for iowatch, the first 'internet breakdown services' at www.iowatch.com. Responsibilities included content development and uploads, including some graphic development and the writing of copy. Liaising between HTML and PHP was essential while I also was in charge of developing and designing the help system.

INTERESTS

I take an active interest in artistic endeavors such as pottery and other handicrafts. I have also volunteered in my community in such areas as the Louisville Zoo. I also enjoy snowboarding and and hiking. While at SOAS, I worked for the magazine, The Spirit, where I wrote art reviews and assisted with editorial duties.
